Rural Clean Water Resources

Rural Clean Water Resources

Go Volunteer Africa Foundation’s support to water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) initiative aims to support vulnerable communities without sustainable access to safe drinking water and basic sanitation with clean water access.

Our support provides sustainable and integrated services in rural and isolated areas, breaking the cycle of contamination caused by unsanitary latrines, contaminated water and unsafe hygiene practices.

Rural Clean Water Resources

Go Volunteer Africa Foundation with her local partners ensures sustainability of these interventions by encouraging community ownership, developing linkages with local councils, and encouraging local entrepreneurs to supply low-cost hardware.

Program Objectives:

  • Improve the quality of life and health for people in rural areas
  • Providing rural communities with clean water and improved sanitation
  • Increase accessibility to safe drinking water sources for impoverished communities
  • Reduce childhood mortality and lower the incidence of water-related illnesses
  • Build capacity of local authorities and water managers in technical and financial management skills for water systems
  • Free up more time for women and children to pursue education and work by eliminating the heavy burden of fetching water from a distant source.
  • Build more partnerships with local authorities and international agencies to share lessons learned about design, management, operation and maintenance, and financing to provide better quality and more cost-effective water systems.
