ZIMBABWE: Women Volunteer Project

Zimbabwe women volunteer project

Volunteer for Zimbabwe women empowerment project and work for the welfare and social development of women who are underprivileged and belongs from poor backgrounds, across Zimbabwe. Participants who choose to volunteer with Go Volunteer Africa’s Zimbabwe women volunteer project need to be highly determined and understanding.

They would be required to adjust to the situations and share knowledge that they possess with these women. Making them aware of global trends and helping them to become an independent individual is the ultimate objective of this program. You will be working with our Zimbabwe women empowerment program that looks at improving the quality of life for women in rural and semi-urban communities by providing economic stability.

PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS

  • Help women with business skills & trainings
  • Help run a micro-finance development program.
  • Provide guidance for nutritional and wholesome diet.
  • Help women develop their income generating activities
  • Help and give computer training to these women in the organization.
  • Teach English to these women and strengthen their communication skills.
  • Engage with girls in the age group of 16-25 years in maternal & sexual health trainings
  • Help in different vocational courses such as beautician work, stitching and handicrafts work.

Empower the women of Zimbabwe through our volunteer project and teach financial literacy and help them effectively participate in economic activities and to take appropriate financial decisions for themselves and their families. Women often have less financial knowledge and lower access to formal financial products than men. Women therefore have specific and additional financial literacy needs.

PROJECT LOCATION

Our Zimbabwe volunteer trip starts and ends in Victoria Fall town. Victoria Falls is a town in western Zimbabwe and a gateway to the massive waterfall of the same name. Here, the Zambezi River plummets over a cliff and into the Boiling Pot before flowing through a series of gorges. The Devil’s Pool, a natural infinity pool, is on the edge of a sheer drop. Spanning the river is 1905 Victoria Falls Bridge. The surrounding Zambezi National Park is home to white rhinos and elephants.

PROJECT DETAILS

The Zimbabwe women empowerment volunteer project focuses on sexual health, financial literacy, micro finance, small scale business management and budgeting skills training. We ask volunteers interested in this Zimbabwe women volunteer project to commit at least 28 days (4 weeks) in order to ensure a worthwhile experience. But we accept volunteers from a minimum of 2 weeks’ duration.

Ethiopia women volunteer project

Expect to take part in an ever changing schedule made up of public speaking and empowering women and youth leaders in areas like sexual health, parenting, family planning, financial literacy, business, microfinance and creativity workshops promoting small business generation, the importance of basic education, and women’s rights and empowerment.

Financial literacy is the ability to understand and effectively use financial skills, such as personal financial management, budgeting, and investing. Merely possessing money is not enough to make it sustainable. Financial literacy for rural women is thus very important to keep track of finances.

Benin Travel Guide

Go Volunteer Africa’s Zimbabwe women volunteer project’s mission is to empower women and girls with the knowledge and skills necessary to make sound and responsible decisions about their health, spending, saving, borrowing, and investing for a promising future of economic well-being.

Volunteer roles and duties are centered on sexual health, economic literacy, entrepreneurship, and asset building. Volunteers teach women and girls how to handle their money like a “pro” from a position of knowledge, confidence, and financial clarity. Volunteers also provides coaching and mentoring opportunities.

Go Volunteer Africa and her local partners host mini-rural conferences, seminars, workshops, and boot camps designed to help women and girls develop into critical thinkers with the power to control and manage their resources for a sound economic future.

You may be asked to run specialty focused sessions during your time at the project site. You will find the experience extremely rewarding as you build trust and spend time sharing your own experiences with the women and girls, and listening to their own stories.

You might like to develop business plans and small grant proposals and help to design and successfully market handmade products. Whatever your background you can be sure that the guidance, knowledge and enthusiasm you bring to this project will benefit the women for years to come.

Accommodation is shared amongst volunteers on the ‘same gender sharing’ basis rooms. Wifi internet, warm water is not guaranteed.

The homes are close to useful amenities like banks, ATM’s, currency exchanges, restaurants, cafes and shopping places. All placements are around 10 – 30 minutes from the accommodation.
