Welcome to Go Volunteer Africa. Please read these Terms & Conditions carefully before applying to or participating in any of our programs.


1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using our services, you agree to be legally bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, you should not use our services.


2. Eligibility

To participate, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years old (or have parental/guardian consent)

  • Provide accurate and complete information

  • Be physically and mentally fit for the program


3. Application & Fees

Application Deposit (USD $220)

  • A non-refundable deposit of USD $220 is required to secure your placement.

  • This covers administrative and coordination costs.

Transfer Policy

  • The USD $220 deposit is non-refundable.

  • However, it may be transferred to a future program if:

    • Cancellation is due to acceptable and verifiable reasons (e.g. medical emergency, visa denial)

    • A written request is submitted

    • The transfer is used within 24 months of the original start date


4. Program Fees

  • Full payment is due 60 days before the program start date

  • Late payments may result in cancellation

  • Prices are subject to change


5. Cancellation Policy

If You Cancel

  • 60+ days before start: 70% refund (minus $40 admin fee)

  • 30–60 days before start: 50% refund

  • Less than 30 days: No refund

  • After start date: No refund

Note: The $220 application fee is non-refundable.


6. Refund Processing

  • Refunds are processed within 14–30 business days

  • Refunds are issued via the original payment method where possible

  • Bank and transfer fees are the participant’s responsibility


7. Cancellation by Go Volunteer Africa

We may cancel programs due to safety or external factors.

  • Partial refunds may be issued for unused time

  • No refunds for application fees or processing charges


8. Travel & Documentation

You are responsible for:

  • Flights and transport

  • Visa and entry requirements

  • Compliance with local laws


9. Health & Insurance

  • Travel and medical insurance is mandatory

  • You are responsible for vaccinations and health preparation


10. Participant Responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Respect local culture and laws

  • Follow all program rules

  • Behave responsibly and professionally


11. Code of Conduct

We may terminate your participation (without refund) if you:

  • Break laws or rules

  • Engage in unsafe or inappropriate behavior

  • Provide false information


12. Responsible Volunteering

We are committed to ethical volunteering.

Participants must:

  • Respect local communities and cultures

  • Contribute positively and sustainably

  • Follow a “do no harm” approach


13. Child Protection & Safeguarding

We have a zero-tolerance policy for abuse or exploitation.

You must:

  • Not engage in inappropriate behavior with minors

  • Follow safeguarding guidelines

  • Report any concerns immediately

Violations may result in termination and reporting to authorities.


14. Risks & Liability

Participation involves inherent risks.

By joining, you:

  • Accept these risks

  • Release Go Volunteer Africa from liability where legally permitted


15. Third-Party Providers

We work with local partners but are not responsible for:

  • Their actions or services

  • Any failures or disruptions


16. Media Use

You agree that we may use your:

  • Photos

  • Videos

  • Testimonials
    for marketing and promotional purposes


17. Payments & Fees

  • Payments may include processing fees

  • We are not responsible for third-party payment issues


18. Booking Changes

  • Changes may be allowed but could incur additional fees


19. Data Protection & Privacy

We respect your privacy and will:

  • Only collect necessary data

  • Store it securely

  • Never sell your data

You may request access, correction, or deletion of your data where applicable.


20. Complaints & Disputes

If you have a complaint:

  1. Contact us in writing

  2. We respond within 5 business days

  3. Resolution is aimed within 14 business days

Unresolved issues may proceed to legal resolution.


21. Force Majeure

We are not responsible for delays or cancellations caused by:

  • Natural disasters

  • Pandemics

  • Government actions

  • Civil unrest


22. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Kenya, with jurisdiction in Nairobi courts.


23. Updates to These Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of our services means you accept any changes.
