Christmas Break Volunteering Project

Christmas break volunteering project

If you’re looking to embrace the season of giving, consider Go Volunteer Africa’s Christmas break volunteering project in Africa. This special arrangement volunteering project in Africa runs from 15th-30th December of every year.

Taking time to volunteer this holiday season is a chance to have a positive impact in the world, while finding a deeper sense of connection with local or global communities.  Christmas break volunteering project in Africa allows you to give back and support causes you are passionate about.

Christmas break volunteering project

Where can you volunteer on Christmas Day? When considering where to volunteer for Christmas, international volunteer programs are often overlooked. But the option of international voluntary work over Christmas could be the perfect solution to the craziness of the holiday season, and the dreary weather that dampens spirits at this time of year in the northern hemisphere.

Volunteering abroad in Africa during the Christmas holiday is a chance to experience warmer weather and adventure while contributing to sustainable global development. Go Volunteer Africa offers a wide range of Christmas volunteer opportunities across Africa and you combine this wonderful experience with a wildlife safari.

Christmas Holiday Volunteer Programs

Many of our projects continue over the holiday season, even though Christmas is the most widely-observed religious celebration in Africa. You can choose from projects such as women’s empowerment, education, childcare, Arts & Culture, community development or a volunteer safari.

You could volunteer on projects working to support women’s empowerment, where you will add to women’s education, and get to experience the mighty Africa. Another option is to teach languages to locals during their holidays. You can spend the Christmas break learning more about cultures and exploring the lush jungles surrounding the villages.

Go Volunteer Africa’s volunteer programs are all aligned with specific United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs). So, no matter which program you choose, you can be assured your efforts will have a measurable impact.

You’ll also have plenty of free time to explore and enjoy your time overseas, giving you the chance to have a relaxing Christmas break. Instead of spending the holidays huddled inside out of the cold, you could be shopping hiking through jungles, or sinking your toes into the soft sands of Africa.

Murchison Falls National Park in the northwest is known for its 43m-tall waterfall and wildlife such as hippos.

Peninsular Cape Maclear is known for its beach resorts.

On its border with Zimbabwe is famed Victoria Falls – indigenously called Mosi-oa-Tunya, or “Smoke That Thunders” – plunging a misty 108m into narrow Batoka Gorge. Spanning the Zambezi River just below the falls is Victoria Falls Bridge, a spectacular viewpoint.

Tanzania: Tanzania is an East African country known for its vast wilderness areas. They include the plains of Serengeti National Park, a safari mecca populated by the “big five” game (elephant, lion, leopard, buffalo, rhino), and Kilimanjaro National Park, home to Africa’s highest mountain. Offshore lie the tropical islands of Zanzibar, with Arabic influences, and Mafia, with a marine park home to whale sharks and coral reefs.
