Go Volunteer Africa’s volunteer vacations in Uganda bring together a temporary community of international volunteers from different backgrounds to serve alongside local counterparts on various community development projects.
The practical work is only part of the main objective. The work is a tool and method to promote inter-cultural understanding and friendship between the volunteers and with the local community. There are many ways to volunteer your time, skills and talents to help out.
The volunteer vacations in Uganda are a wonderful learning experience on many levels, particularly for languages, but also for practical work skills, social and interpersonal skills, geographical and inter-cultural experience, self-awareness, understanding the realities and hopes of the hosting community, seeing life as it is from a wholly different perspective.
Tolerance of differences, willingness to share, a sense of humor and a constructive approach to solving interpersonal problems are essential qualities for volunteers. The beneficiaries of our projects will welcome you into their community with open arms.
You will be made to feel at home and you will taste all the different cultural foods, see their dancing and have the opportunity to join in. The children always enjoy having visitors and will be very friendly towards you.
Go Volunteer Africa will work closely with you to ensure comprehensive preparation, including both an understanding of the people with whom you will be working, and all considerations necessary for traveling overseas.
Travelling across Uganda, all our volunteer vacations and tours include a length of stay on at least one volunteer projects that we run giving you enough time to make a difference and get the full volunteering experience without compromise.
Then when your work is done, explore the wonders of the Pearl of Africa with our wildlife safaris. After your project you will follow it up with an amazing weekend adventure tour with activities such as a 3 day wildlife safaris, white water rafting, bungee jumping, horse-back riding, rainforest trekking, sight-seeing tours, village-walks and so much more.
