Gabon, officially the Gabonese Republic, is a sovereign state on the west coast of Central Africa. Located on the equator, Gabon is bordered by Equatorial Guinea to the northwest, Cameroon to the north, the Republic of the Congo on the east and south, and the Gulf of Guinea to the west.  Its capital and largest city is Libreville.

Gabon offers a spectacular array of wildlife in its dense rain-forests and open Savannah to nature enthusiasts. Add to that superb white-sand beaches, rushing rivers and ethereal landscapes, and you have an Eden-like travel experience in an unexplored part of Africa.

Gabon boasts an exceptional biodiversity and is home to mammals ranging from whales to warthogs and a long list of endemic birds. This is a country where gorillas and elephants can be caught on camera on the same stretch of beach.

Gabon is not yet a mainstream destination and therefore is one of Africa’s best places to access the untouched rain-forest. Now is the time to go there – soon the crowds will arrive.
