This 3 Days Chimpanzee Tracking Safari is the ultimate Uganda primates’ safari. You will go tracking chimpanzees in Kibale forest National Park.
Day 1: Arrival and transfer to Kibale national Park
Tracking chimpanzees on our gorilla trekking and chimpanzee safari, you will be met by a Wanderlust Adventures driver / guide upon arrival at Entebbe airport on arrival for your chimpanzee safari, and transfer to Kibale forest heading west past Mityana and continue to Fort Portal where you will stop for lunch. Proceed to Kibale forest arriving in the late afternoon. Dinner and overnight at select lodge.
Day 2: Chimpanzee Tracking in Kibale forest
After morning breakfast, wake up early to track chimps near Kanyanchu. This can take you half a day. There are primates in the area like the golden monkey, L’Hoest monkey, baboons, white and black Columbus monkeys, grey checked mangabey, red Columbus, blue monkeys and pottos. Other animals include forest elephants unique from the common type, giant forest hogs and a striking tree species.
Enjoy Lunch and later take a guided nature walk to Bigodi swamp sanctuary, a good site for birders. The Great Blue Turaco and Papyrus Gonolek can easily be marked among the other bird 137 species. There is also an array of butterfly species. Later return for dinner and overnight as above.
Day 3: Back to Kampala /Mukono
Enjoy morning breakfast and transfer back to Kampala or Mukono- the home the Ssamba Foundation and Kyampisi Backpackers Home with lunch en-route in Mbarara town. Drop off at Entebbe airport for your flight back home with memories of this gorilla trekking and chimpanzee tracking trip!
