PROJECT DETAILS

The Zambia childcare volunteer project provides vital help to the efforts of the local staff and in return, the local staff will be on hand to assist you throughout your placement, and their experience is invaluable in helping volunteers plan their sessions.

Through our Zambia childcare volunteer project, Go Volunteer Africa supports schools, orphanages and children centers in Zambia that educate, house and feed needy children and orphans. You can teach primary classes, including academic subjects and life skills, and organize sport and art activities for the children. Let us know what you’re interested in and we’ll get you into the best placement.

Zambia childcare volunteer project

Many children in Zambia are orphaned and needy due to loss of their parents/ guardians to diseases like HIV/AIDS, cancer and hence leading them to fend for themselves at a very young age. Some families are currently headed by children. Imagine a child that has not even acquired education has to take care of over seven young siblings.

It is our responsibility to make sure that these children do not even feel the absence of their parents in life. We should also resettle back those children that ran away from home and manage the circumstances that led to their leaving in the first place. The children are our future.

Zambia childcare volunteer project

If we do not show them love and equip them with the right morals on how to survive, what will the future be like for them? And how about the next generation? Let us work together and bring a change. Make the children happy. Show them love and care. Equip them with skills that will help them earn a living in future.

Play with them. Spend time talking to them. Most of these children are traumatized by the experiences that they go through.  So counseling them is a requirement. It is in such sessions that a child gains trust in you and once they gain your trust, they open up and this makes it easier on how to help them or even reunite them with their families.

Zambia childcare volunteer project

As a participant in our Zambia childcare volunteer project, your daily schedule will depend on the activities that you are interested in. A normal day schedule for a child care volunteer will involve waking up early. This is because the children wake up early and so their activity program starts as early. The volunteer will then start preparing for the day’s activities.
