PROJECT DETAILS

The Zimbabwe wildlife conservation volunteering project perfect for gap year, career breaks, senior volunteers, school groups and families. Go Volunteer Africa’s Zimbabwe wildlife conservation volunteering program include rhino and elephant conservation and anti-poaching programs.

Wildlife Conservation Volunteer Program

All conservation efforts in Africa face tremendous challenges, so volunteers provide an essential service. You will focus on the intensive monitoring of priority species, including rhino, lion, elephant, and vulture. Tracking of endangered species is a critical step in conservation, to keep track of movement patterns, demographics, populations and poaching.

Zimbabwe’s tourist industry, once one of the busiest in Africa, is well on the road to recovery and Zimbabwe is a popular destination for volunteers. The lack of tourism in recent years means it is home to unspoilt wilderness areas and abundant game viewing. A lack of government funding means there is plenty of important work to be done by wildlife conservation volunteers.

Join other like-minded volunteers in Zimbabwe’s beautiful game reserves. Become part of the small local community, helping to preserve their flora and fauna for generations to come. This project is all about keeping these species and their habitat protected – and this is where you come in.

Uganda Wildlife Volunteer Program

Your Zimbabwe wildlife volunteer program involves spending time on the water falls, rivers, national parks, enjoying the beautiful surroundings and spotting the incredible wildlife. Volunteers will also spend time with the local community to learn about their way of life and help them to promote positive environmental work.

In the remote locations within the Zambezi National Park, you will camp in two man tents, with basic washing and toilet facilities. All bed linen is provided, but please bring a sleeping bag. The campsite will depend on where the project work is based for that week. There are toilets and shower facilities, but they are quite basic, so some flexibility is required.
