PROJECT DETAILS:

Many women survivors of conflict are living in miserable and vulnerable conditions, putting their health, development and life at risk. The Zanzibar women empowerment project looks to tackle inequality and improve the quality of life for women in marginalized communities by providing economic stability.

This women empowerment volunteer program in Zanzibar has a number of projects that aim to transform the livelihoods of Zanzibar women through education, economic empowerment and entrepreneurship. The volunteer projects helps women aged between 18 and 35 to become economically self sufficient, providing them with the space and support to develop their business ideas, learn new vocational skills and join a community of supportive women.

Volunteers in Zanzibar working on the empowerment program are encouraged to share their existing knowledge and skills with the women on the project. Volunteers can lead workshops in business skills, IT, administration, financial literacy, people management and customer care.

Go Volunteer Africa has been leading volunteering opportunities since 2009.
