Volunteer in Australia, Germany, Sweden and Denmark with GVA. GVA now offers a limited number of paid volunteer jobs for super qualifying individuals from across Africa. This is a great opportunity to expand your horizons and gain professional work experience abroad.
Your round-trip airfare, visas, insurance, board and lodging are paid for by GVA and its partners abroad, including a monthly allowance to cover your expenses while working on the projects abroad. Applicants are required to be over the age of 24 and not older than 40, with at-least a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) and two-years work experience.
As a general requirement, all applicants have to subscribe as members of GVA and they must cover up their registration fees into the program. Being a member of GVA is mandatory for all interested participants.
GVA is currently accepting volunteer applications for the 2019 program. The deadline to apply is November 15, 2018. Volunteer placements duration ranges from 4-6 months. Applications must be submitted through our online volunteer application form below. Any applications forms that are mailed or e-mailed will not be accepted.

In this program, you will live in beautiful Calga, Australia about 1.5 hours outside of Sydney by train. The location is situated on an 80 acre wildlife sanctuary at the start of picturesque NSW Central Coast. GVA has partnered with a very recognized organization that specializes in language & adventure sports camps for children & youth throughout Europe. We offer different positions, such as Camp Counselor, sports counselor and so much more. GVA and partner provides an intense training through which you will obtain professional instruction in many outdoor education fields, from canoeing, kayaking, swimming, archery, climbing & high ropes, passing through field sports, creative activities, to language coaching, team building, etc. Plus, you will obtain a bronze cross and 1st aid certification.

GVA and its partner offer a rare opportunity to volunteer in a community especially for people with mental disabilities in Denmark. The project, known as Hertha, is a community located in Herskind, a small village in Denmark that consists of families and individuals who have integrated themselves into the lives and rhythm of people with mental disabilities. The village has many workshops that volunteers can support, including a bakery, biodynamic market garden, biodynamic farm, dairy, weave shed, kitchen, and laundry. In these workshops, volunteers and community residents produce products for the village and beyond.
Volunteer at a School in Denmark:
GVA offers limited teaching positions at a school in Denmark. This program provides English speakers a chance to live with a Danish family and teach conversational English at a local school. This opportunity will be an amazing adventure of living in your teaching environment and being completely immersed in the fascinating culture of Denmark. The school, located in the small town of Ejstrupholm, is easily accessible by bus with connections to the train going to Aarhus, the second largest city in Denmark, and Copenhagen, the capital.
