Christian Short-Term Missions

Are you passionate about telling others the good news of Jesus and salvation? Do you relish descipling new believers into spiritual maturity? Then Christian short-term Missions organized by Go Volunteer Africa are the right answer!

Christian short-term Missions arranged by Go Volunteer Africa is an effort to spread Christianity to the unreached communities of Africa, through our partner faith based organizations.

Through various faith based development partners in Africa, Go Volunteer Africa’s christian short-term missions’ goal is to plant and develop churches across deserving communities of Africa. The focus is on reaching the unreached – areas in the African continent where there are few Christians or where Christians suffer because of poverty.

Church planting, evangelism and community development is our strategy for Africa because only through loving and developing communities can Africa really experience transformational change.

Our Christian short-term Missions help communities served in various ways, the activities conducted include:

  • Train workers and send out local missionaries to far unreached villages deep in the jungles of Africa
  • Plant churches (help in the establishment of churches in the outreached community or help in real brick work of construction of local church)
  • Translate and distribute bibles and Christian literature
  • Help victims of natural disasters (like mud-sliding and earthquakes)
  • Feed the hungry due to famine and poverty (prepare hot meals for orphans and disadvantaged people)
  • Provide love and shelter for orphans
  • Offer medical missions
  • Dig wells for safe water supply

Each short-term mission trip is carefully reviewed to ensure it measures up to the expectations of the missionaries and churches that provide financial support.

First, the short-term mission trip leaders must be Christians, Bible-believing evangelicals who demonstrate high moral standards in their personal lives. There must be evidence of the call of God upon their lives with confirmation the Lord is using them to win souls, plant churches, and faithfully bear witness for Christ in the places where they serve.

Go Volunteer Africa staff regularly corresponds with the missions groups and requires consistent reports and updates of ministry activity on the ground. Go Volunteer Africa’s missionaries always work in teams in order to support and encourage one another. Teamwork also provides possibilities for personal growth and training.

Every day must be used to build relationships, make connections, and plant seeds. We need team members willing to be used for as long as God keeps the door open. Whether by language study, teaching, or through a business platform, you will have the opportunity to invest in lives, building the church one person at a time among needy people.

Orientation: Orientation will be done on the day before the start of the mission program, its means you should arrive in host community at least two days in advance (accommodation will be arranged). The orientation lays the foundation for the mission, covering such topics as motivation for missions, evangelism and discipleship, cross-cultural communications and mission methods.
