This special gorilla safari experience begins in Kampala, the capital city of Uganda, where volunteers are to arrive by 1st or 15th of the month. Participants on this adventure trip will spend two days in Kampala where we will take an adventurous tour around the city formerly of seven hills.


On this classic Kampala city tour you will visit Uganda Museum, Kasubi tombs, Vegetable markets, Owino Market, Rubaga hill, Namirembe Hill, the Kings Lake, The Beverly Hills of Kampala, Bahai Temple, Best Local foods in town – Banana beer and rolex, Tour to Buganda kingdom, The New Scottish Parliament, The museum of Buganda Kingdom, Idi Amin’s Torture chambers, The Royal Mile, The view point of most organized chaos, Gadaffi Mosque, The best view of Kampala (360°), Culture and Art Galleries and Namugongo Martyrs Shrine.

During the awesome total Jinja town experience, you will visit the source of the mighty river Nile, the Coronation Park, Itanda Falls, art and craft markets and there are options for water activities, like white water rafting, bungee jumping and sighteeing tours for birdlife lovers and fishing activities. Jinja is the adventure capital of Uganda.


The volunteering program in Uganda has a number of projects aimed at improving on healthcare, education, environment conservation practices, games and sports for youth and children, music, dance and drama for children and youth, improving the standards of living, building community schools, or helping youth with their ventures and so many other initiatives aimed at improving the communities in need

The overall aim of the projects is one of improving the community infrastructure, encouraging sustainable activities and capacity building. The people are hardworking and appreciative of our contribution to their community and will be incredibly responsive to your presence on the project.

No matter which project you chose in which to volunteer in Uganda, you will have an important role to play and your efforts will be greatly appreciated. Your day to day involvement will depend upon the main focus of the program at the time of your visit.


Go Volunteer Africa has designed this package to offer the most affordable gorilla safari in Uganda. This 3 day Uganda Gorilla safari, will take you for Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park which covers an area of 321 sq km and is among the oldest forests lasting over 25,000 years.

You will be able to trek one of the 12 habituated mountain gorilla groups. Besides the Gorillas, you will also have an opportunity to see other primates such as the red-tailed monkeys, chimpanzees, baboons, black and white colobus monkeys among others. This forest is also home to 120 mammals, 51 reptiles, 310 butterfly species, 27 species of frogs, geckos, chameleons, 163 tree species, 104 fern species, 1000 flowering plants, as well as over 350 species of birds such as the hornbills and the Turacos!

Gorilla trekking takes around 2 to 8 hours, which is worth it as those into hiking will have a great time climbing up and about the rolling hills, and going through the lush vegetation.


Throughout this entire journey our goal is to make a positive impact on the people we come across, all while getting off the grid and experiencing local culture and discovering Uganda.
