Botswana, officially the Republic of Botswana, is a landlocked country located in Southern Africa. Botswana is topographically flat, with up to 70 percent of its territory being the Kalahari Desert. It is bordered by South Africa to the south and southeast, Namibia to the west and north, and Zimbabwe to the northeast. Its border with Zambia to the north near Kazungula is poorly defined but is, at most, a few hundred metres long.
Botswana is sparsely populated with a population of just around 2 million. Botswana is relatively wealthy but many of its people continue to have to deal with utter poverty. The evident of poverty is clear in rural communities and it has been affected by HIV/AIDS epidemic which has left many orphaned children.
Volunteer Botswana programs offered by Go Volunteer Africa range from wildlife conservation to teaching and childcare volunteer opportunities in Botswana. Volunteer Botswana projects will not only mean that you can do good, you will also be delighted by the lush natural beauty and abundant wildlife that you can expect to find there.
