PROJECT DETAILS
Go Volunteer Africa’s English Teaching Volunteer Program in Algeria, offers you an opportunity to volunteer in local schools and training centres in Algeria. Volunteers mainly teach children aged between 10- 17years. Typical subjects taught include English (Conversational and Written) and General Knowledge.
Our Algeria English teaching project achieves the dual goal of aiding local schools in Algiers, that have poor infrastructure and resources, and to help underprivileged children to get support with their education. The Algeria English teaching volunteer project builds up children’s understanding of English by alternative teaching techniques, giving them resources and support and thus developing confidence and making them enjoy education rather than fearing it.
As a volunteer in English teaching project, you will work in deprived children community schools consisting both boys and girls. Along with English lessons, you may teach other skills like computers and arts. We hope that with the skills and motivation volunteers give them, students pursue higher education and get well paid jobs that often require English language skills.
SKILLS REQUIRED
Prior experience in teaching English is desired but not required. You’ll need to have sound communication skills in English. Volunteers should also be flexible, self-motivated and have a strong willingness to learn and take new initiatives.
