All participants in the Tanzania program must secure a permit to volunteer. All visitors must hold a passport valid for at least six months with at least one empty page.  Check this page http://www.immigration.go.tz/index.php/en/services/visa-information

This Moshi-Kilimanjaro experience journey begins in Moshi town where volunteer travelers are to arrive a day before the start of the trip (we can accommodate, if need be). Volunteers spend most of their time in Moshi.

Moshi is a town in northern Tanzania, near the Kenyan border. It's known as a gateway to Kilimanjaro National Park, home to Africa's highest mountain, Mount Kilimanjaro. Trails run up the mountain’s cloud-ringed, snow-capped dome, through alpine forests and meadows home to elephants and leopards. One of Tanzania's major coffee-producing hubs, Moshi is known for its coffee farms and auctions

This is where you will be spending the most of your time. The people of this small town are some of the friendliest in the world. You will stay with a local family or live at the volunteer house and eat home cooked meals while experiencing local life there every day. You will travel daily through the beautiful neighborhood and share in local customs in many homes all while contributing to meaningful community development projects.

You will be involved in a wide range of projects, depending on your skills and interests. Volunteers will be working alongside a local team to ensure positive results of the project. Volunteers are stationed in walkable distances from accommodation to project worksite.

Our favorite thing at Go Volunteer Africa is being spontaneous and we love all the unplanned surprises we constantly come across during our travels. We provide a very free flowing schedule that also allows free time to spend doing whatever you’d like.

The objective of this unique volunteer travel adventure trip is to help more people gain the life changing, life affirming experiences that volunteering can give while experiencing the best Tanzania can offer. Throughout this entire trip, the goal is to make a positive impact on the local people while getting off the grid and experiencing local culture.

Day 1: Go Volunteer Africa will arrange a pickup for you, from the airport, hotel or guesthouse, at agreed time. Our experienced Coordinator will give an orientation about Go Volunteer Africa and the project you will be working on. (It’s always better to arrive a day earlier for the best experience and allowing you sometime to rest, if not yet in Moshi.) From here you will visit and tour the project site and be introduced to the staff. During the orientation you can choose from our diverse assortment of health, environment and socio-economic projects collaborating with local African partner NGOs.

Day 2 - 12:  You can use your talents and skills to enhance the lives of less priviledged children, under privileged women and youth while learning about the culture and customs of the local Tanzanian people. You will surely be assisting with on-going programs in need of a helping hand. You can spend the first day helping to paint the classroom blocks, work with teachers, prepare meals for children, plant trees, train dance, musical instruments, and work with clinical officers or participate in the youth empowerment projects.

Day 13: Moshi town tour

Moshi is a town filled with attractions from coffee plantations, art galleries, to cultural and historical sites. Moshi is nestled at the base of Mount Kilimanjaro and its the coffee producing home of Tanzania. Go Volunteer Africa will offer you a life time opportunity to fully explore Moshi on a one day trip offering you the opportunity to see the City and discover Moshi's beauty and history. The journey will take you to the hot springs, water falls, Masai hike, lake tour, the best coffee around, coffee plantation tours and so many other exciting places in Moshi.

Day 14- 19: Mountain Kilimanjaro Climbing tour

This is a five day mountain climbing journey which will give you a classic safari experience in Tanzania. 5 days Kilimanjaro Marangu Route Climbing tour is life time trips were you can climb with groups of family or friends and sometime solo climbers. Marangu Route is the most popular, least difficult and the shortest way to Uhuru Peak. This route is also called the Tourist Route or the Coca Cola Route.

70% of all climbers choose this route, because most of the route consists of easy hiking. Marangu route climb on Mount Kilimanjaro Tours provide an easy attempt to the summit and success to many trekkers due to the addition day for acclimatization on the mountain. This route is fairly easy but the final part to the summit is still difficult. Although this route is the easiest, it has the highest failure rate due to bad preparation. It is advised to take this route seriously enough, to be well organized and to take all possible safety measures. Marangu Route is the best climbing route to the summit of mount Kilimanjaro within 4 nights. In this 5 Days Kilimanjaro Marangu Route Climb, you will have 2 nights after climb in Moshi Town.

Day 20: Shopping souvenirs/Barbacue Night/ Moshi Nightlife Experience

At the end of the 20th day, we help our participants with shopping souvenirs, have the barbecue night and full Moshi nightlife experience, we shall provide one more night stay before heading back home or off to your next destination. If you'd like to plan extra days in Tanzania either on the front or back end of this trip then we are happy to help you with suggestions of places we would put on the top of our list to visit. You can combine the Tanzania-mainland trip with a full Zanzibar island experience.
