10 Days Maasai Mara, Volunteering & Lakes Camping

This 10 Days low-cost Volunteering Kenya, Maasai Mara and Kenya Lakes Experience budget holiday begins from Nairobi with a five days of making a positive impact through volunteering. GVA Holidays will arrange a pickup for you, from the airport, hotel or guesthouse, at agreed time. Our experienced Coordinator will give an orientation about Go Volunteer Africa‘s work in Kenya and the project you will be working on. (It’s always better to arrive a day earlier for the best experience and allowing you sometime to rest, if not yet in Nairobi.)

Day 1-5: Nairobi – Volunteering

You will visit and tour the project site and be introduced to the staff. During the orientation you can choose from our diverse assortment of health, environment and socio-economic projects. You will use your talents and skills to enhance the lives of orphans, under privileged women and youth while learning about the culture and customs of the local Kenyan people.

You will surely be assisting with on-going programs in need of a helping hand. You can spend the first day helping to paint the classroom blocks, work with teachers, prepare meals for orphans, plant trees, train dance, musical instruments, and work with clinical officers or participate in the youth empowerment projects.

You can choose to stay in one of our accommodation or be dropped back to your hotel or guesthouse.

Day 6: Nairobi to Lake Nakuru National Park

Begin your 5 days camping tour from Nairobi to Lake Nakuru National Park, arriving in time for lunch, followed by an introductory game drive. The drive will take you to shore of the lake to watch the multi-million flamingo birds, the pelicans, Hippos, Waterbucks etc. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 7: Lake Nakuru National Park – Lake Naivasha

We continue our low cost safari to Lake Navaisha arriving in time for lunch at the campsite by the lake and early afternoon, we take an optional nature walk at Crescent Island is an excellent way to see wild animals while on foot. The Island is a private game sanctuary, which is home to Zebras, Wildebeests, Gazelles, Vervet monkeys, Hares, Genet Cats, Waterbucsk and Giraffes.

Day 8: Lake Naivasha — Maasai Mara Game Reserve

Early in the morning, we have option of a boat ride at a cost. Depart after breakfast to Masai Mara Game Reserve. Lunch en-route or at the accommodation depending on time. This enormous reserve is actually part of the vast Serengeti plains famously known for its spectacular great Wildebeest’s migration and is home of the Big Five: Lion, Elephant, Leopard, Buffalo and Rhino. Lunch at our camp and relax before departing for the afternoon game drive. The Mara Game Reserve – one of the greatest wildernesses of the world. Enjoy evening game drive. Dinner and Overnight

Day 9: Discover Maasai Mara Game Reserve

A full day will be spent in the Mara with morning and afternoon game drives in search for great predators and perhaps even cubs continues. On the plains are enormous herds of grazing animals plus the elusive Cheetah and Leopard hiding amidst acacia boughs. During our stay we also have an optional opportunity to visit a village of the Maasai people or early morning balloon ride at a cost.

Day 10: Maasai Mara Game Reserve – Nairobi

Early morning tea/coffee or Hot chocolate then depart for a morning pre-breakfast game drive. Back to the accommodation for breakfast and then depart to Narok for picnic or lunch to arrive in Nairobi in the evening to end your budget camping safari.
