10 Days Maasai Mara, Volunteering, Amboseli & Tsavo Safari

A budget friendly adventure holiday in Kenya has the power to change you and conversely, you can make a positive impact in the places you visit. This 10 Days Maasai Mara, volunteering, Amboseli and Tsavo West low-cost Safari begins from Nairobi with a nine days of volunteering program in Kenya. GVA Holidays will arrange a pickup for you, from the airport, hotel or guesthouse at agreed time. Our experienced Coordinator will give an orientation about Go Volunteer Africa‘s work in Kenya and the project you will be working on. (It’s always better to arrive a day earlier for the best experience and allowing you sometime to rest, if not yet in Nairobi.)

Day 1-4: Nairobi – Volunteering

You will visit the Nairobi volunteering project site and be introduced to the staff. During the orientation you can choose from our diverse assortment of healthcare, Arts and Music, Sports Coaching, Orphanage Care, Slum Project, and socio-economic projects. You will use your talents and skills to enhance the lives of orphans, under privileged women and youth while learning about the culture and customs of the local Kenyan people.

You will surely be assisting with on-going programs in need of a helping hand. You can spend the first day helping to paint the classroom blocks, work with teachers, prepare meals for orphans, train a dance, musical instruments, and work with clinical officers or participate in the youth empowerment projects.

You can choose to stay in one of our accommodation or be dropped back to your hotel or guesthouse.

Day 5: Nairobi – Maasai Mara Game Reserve

After completing your 4 days volunteering in Nairobi, you will embark on a lifetime safari full of amazing adventures. The safari experience starts from Nairobi city via the Great Rift Valley and we arrive in Narok town in time for lunch. Along the way we will have a distant view of Mt. Longonot, Mt. Margaret and the Pyrethrum plantations. Drive further to Maasai Mara Game Reserve arriving for evening game drive.

Day 6: Explore Maasai Mara

We spend a full day in the Maasai Mara on morning and afternoon game drives in the rolling savanna grasslands in search of the big five and other numerous plains game including a variety of bird species this park is famous for.

Day 7: Maasai Mara – Nairobi – Amboseli National Park

Early breakfast, then depart by road to Amboseli National Park to continue your amazing tour. The Park shelters more than 420 species of birds and has enormous Elephant population and other big game attracted to the area by underground springs fed from the melting snows of Mount Kilimanjaro. We have lunch in Nairobi city, and enjoy a late afternoon game drive en-route to our campsite.

Day 8: Explore Amboseli National Park

This morning we rise early for good views of Mount Kilimanjaro on a clear day, we set off for a game drive. Amboseli is an excellent place to view a multitude of wildlife, including everything from Wildebeests to Giraffes to Baboons. A visit to a Maasai village is planned after breakfast. Midday finds us at the campsite for lunch and afternoon rest, followed by another game drive in the evening. Amboseli is home to the legendary Maasai tribesmen.

Day 9: Amboseli – Tsavo West National Park

After breakfast, depart with picnic lunch via the Shetani lava flow for Tsavo West National Park. An extensive game drive on arrival. Tsavo West National Park has Elephants, Crocodiles, Vervet Monkeys, Antelopes, Baboons, Giraffes, Hippos and Lions etc. The park is a marvel in terms of geo-physical character and plant diversity. Mzima Springs, the source of Mombasa’s water, is located here. These springs are recharged daily with hundreds of millions of liters of crystal clear water by underground streams emanating from Chyulu Hills. At Mzima, all sorts of animals gather for a drink particularly in the dry season. You may also be able to view Hippo and Crocodiles from the underwater glass tank.

Day 10: Tsavo West – Nairobi / Mombasa.

After breakfast, return by road to Nairobi arriving early afternoon to end the remarkable low cost camping safari.
