Flights: Flights are not included in our program costs. However, GVA has partnered with an experienced and professional team of travel experts to help our volunteer travelers find the best flight deals for their trips with us. This travel specialist operates in the tailor-made, long haul multi-stop travel market, arranging complex airfares and transfers for independent travelers.


Visas: The Republic of Kenya, a member of the East African Community, allows citizens of all African countries to obtain a visa on arrival. Citizens of most other countries you can either get a visa on arrival at the airport, or before you travel. To minimize time spent queuing at the airport; get a visa before you travel. You can apply for single entry and transit visas on the e-visas website. Insurance: You'll need to buy appropriate travel insurance covering your participation on the program. You won't be able to go without the right travel insurance so double check to avoid disappointment. Please make sure that you're covered for the whole duration of your trip – from the day you leave your home to the day you return.

The objective of this unique volunteer travel adventure trip is to help more people gain the life changing, life affirming experiences that volunteering can give while experiencing the best Masai Mara can offer. We are committed to enabling skill transfer in just ten days of your involvement in our community service project and to helping volunteers realize the value they can add using the skills they hold.


Day 1: Go Volunteer Africa will arrange a pickup for you, from the airport, hotel or guesthouse, at agreed time. Our experienced Coordinator will give an orientation about Go Volunteer Africa and the project you will be working on. (It’s always better to arrive a day earlier for the best experience and allowing you sometime to rest, if not yet in Nairobi.) From here you will visit and tour the project site and be introduced to the staff. During the orientation you can choose from our diverse assortment of health, environment and socio-economic projects collaborating with local African partner NGOs.


Day 2 - 9:  You can use your talents and skills to enhance the lives of orphans, under privileged women and youth while learning about the culture and customs of the local Kenyan people. You will surely be assisting with on-going programs in need of a helping hand. You can spend the first day helping to paint the classroom blocks, work with teachers, prepare meals for orphans, plant trees, train dance, musical instruments, and work with clinical officers or participate in the youth empowerment projects.


You can choose to stay in one of our accommodation or be dropped back to your hotel or guesthouse.



Day 11: Nairobi is the world famous safari capital of East Africa. It is a city filled with attractions from museums, art galleries, national parks to cultural and historical sites. Go Volunteer Africa will offer you a life time opportunity to fully explore Nairobi on a one day trip offering you the opportunity to see the City and discover Nairobi's beauty and history. 


Day 12: We shall head out to the Lake Nakuru. Lake Nakuru lies in the volcano-strewn Rift Valley. The 3hrs drive from Nairobi takes you through highlands farms of the Kikuyu people before descending an escarpment into the dramatic landscape of the Rift. Bird watchers will be delighted with the fantastic array of bird life here.


Day 13: Nairobi – Masai Mara Safari


GVA guide will pick you up from your Nairobi hotel, Guest House or Residential House as early as 07:30am after the breakfast, there after proceed to our departure point which is in the city center where you will be met by one of our staff for final review of the program as you join the other travelers if it’s a joining safari.


At this point you will have an opportunity to visit the Super Market just in case you needed to make the last minute shopping. There after depart Nairobi and proceed to the Great Rift Valley View point which will be your first stop over, after few minutes of photography embark again in the safari vehicles and go down the rift valley and in the next 2 hours to arrive in Narok for lunch.


After lunch and stretching your feet you will proceed again for another 2 hours on a bumpy road which leads you now to the famous 7th wonder of the world home of millions of wildebeest and all other Big 5 commonly known the Masai Mara World leading Tourist attraction. On arrival you will be received by our Staff in the camp or in lodge as you proceed to the check in.


After checking in your rooms you will proceed for the late afternoon game drive for about 2hours game viewing which will unfold to you the beauty of the African Sunset. Return to the Camp or Lodge for dinner and overnight.


Day 14: Masai Mara Full Day Game Safari


Masai Mara is situated in south-west Kenya and is one of Africa Greatest Wildlife Reserves. Together with the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania it forms Africa most diverse, incredible and most spectacular Eco-systems and possibly the world’s top safari big game viewing Eco-system. We are sure you have heard the wildebeest migration is nothing short of amazing. It is one of the things you have to add to your bucket list.


This will be the full day explore the Masai Mara, breakfast will be served as early as 07:30am, then our cook will pack for you fresh picnic lunch since the whole day will be exploring the Masai Mara famous 7th wonders of the World. This game reserve is Kenya’s finest wildlife sanctuary. Including migrants, well over 450 species of animals have been recorded here.


Mara plains are filled with migrating wildebeest and zebra, there is also resident wildlife year round. The Mara’s gentle fertile climate bounded by The Rift, offers perhaps the richest stocked reserve set within some 1672 sq km – an unlimited spectacle of wildlife. Located 268 km west of Nairobi, the emphasis here is on game.


Herds of immense Elephants, browse among Lion, Buffalo, Thompson Gazelle, Zebra and Topi. You may occasionally sight black Rhino. In the Mara River Hippos play and Cross bask on the banks. The annual migration of a million Wildebeest follows the rains north. After exploring the park return to the camp or Lodge for dinner and overnight.


Day 15: Masai Mara Morning Game – Nairobi


Wake up call at 06:00am, have a cup of hot coffee or African tea, proceed for early morning game drive, the early morning Game safari offers you golden opportunity for early morning big 5 kills, African Jungle Male Lions are spotted along the trails as well as other Kenya big 5 including the documented the Big Cat Documentary, Lion, Leopard & Black Rhinos if lucky.


The Kenya Trails Game viewing takes about 2-3 hours then return to the Camp or Lodge for full breakfast. After the breakfast check out and for those who will be willing to visit the famous Masai Village our driver will organize for you. You will be entertained with Masai Moran dance as well as the visit of the Manyatta.


Inside the Manyatta take as many photos as you can as a memory of Africa Cultural visit. There after proceed back to Nairobi with a stopover in Narok Town for Hot Lunch as you leave for Nairobi arriving early afternoon where you will be dropped either back to the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) or back to the Nairobi Hotel
