Introduction to Kawempe:
Kawempe is an area in the city of Kampala, Uganda’s capital. Kawempe is located on the northwestern edge of Kampala. It is bordered by Nabweru to the north, Kisaasi to the east, Bwaise to the south, Kazo to the southwest and Nansana in Wakiso District to the west. The road distance between Kampala’s central business district and Kawempe is approximately 8.5 kilometres (5.3 mi).
Kawempe like other suburbs of Kampala, is bustling with both social and economic activities. It is clearly one of the main suburbs thriving on the entertainment business as evidenced with the numerous night clubs, bars and film halls among others

Gadaffi Mosque, Old Kampala – the place boasts the best view of all of Kampala from the top of its minaret.
