Uganda -the pearl of Africa is amazingly very beautiful and natural. The country is still pure and untouched, it is one of the countries that has not been affected by mass tourism, and Go Volunteer Africa is offering that ultimate experience that every traveler looks for in an African adventure.

15 days trip of total Uganda Volunteer and Travel experience to one of the most beautiful, yet poverty stricken, places on earth. Uganda remains authentic country with its several and diverse cultures, thriving and abundant wildlife, the best place to track Chimpanzees, Mountain Gorillas and other primates.

TRIP OVERVIEW:

Located at the point where the East African savannah meets the Central African rainforest, the country is one of the most bio-diverse in the world, and within its comparatively diminutive frame lays the continent’s highest mountain range, its largest lake, and the source of the world’s longest river.

A volunteer travel trip to Uganda with Go Volunteer Africa will give you an ultimate experience of nature, wildlife, culture, adventure, heritage and vibe – you’re spoilt for choice! People in Uganda are friendly, open and curious with a great sense of fun.

Uganda is known as the primate capital of Africa boosting of chimpanzees, mountain gorillas, golden monkeys and other 12 species of primate still living in the wild forests of the Pearl of Africa.

VOLUNTEER EXPERIENCE: 9 days

Depending on the season and time of your arrival, you will get involved in our sustainable community development projects. Go Volunteer Africa projects provide healthcare, education, youth mentoring, women’s rights education, construction of local schools and small business development. Let us know and we’ll figure out a good placement for your skills and interests during your participation in the 15 Days Uganda Volunteer & Travel Experience.

Volunteer travelers will work alongside locals and your life will change as you sit, talk and hear their stories while feeling the love from each person you help.

KAMPALA & JINJA SIGHTSEEING TOURS: 3 days

Between your time volunteering and traveling, you will also experience some of the amazing activities this beautiful country has to offer such as wildlife adventure safaris, culture and historical tourist attractions, and experience the real life at the grassroots level.

The trip will take you just a short drive from Mukono town to Ssezibwa Falls –a place of tranquility – a mixture of enriching nature, scenic wonders, culture and legends, nature walks, birding.

If you wish, there is also an opportunity to experience some of the best white water rafting, bungee jumping, fishing safaris and boat cruises in the world with a day visit to Jinja – the Adventure Capital of Uganda and will catch a closer glimpse of the mighty River Nile is by taking up a Nile cruise.

The Kampala city experience will take you to visit the Gadaffi Mosque; this place boasts the best view of all of Kampala from the top of its minaret. The mosque itself is also an impressive building and built by…yes you guessed it…former Libyan leader Colonel Gadaffi, it is Kampala’s largest mosque.

The team will also visit the Kabaka’s Palace and Idi Amin’s Torture Chambers -This is the historic seat of the Buganda kingdom, located on Mengo hill exactly one mile up from the Buganda parliament. Amin built his torture chamber here, which saw the murder of an estimated 300 people, basically anyone stronger or smarter than Amin.

Volunteer Travelers participating in 15 Days of Uganda Volunteer & Travel Experience will be taken to Ba’hai Temple– this is the only one of its kind on the African continent and definitely worth a visit.

The Uganda National Museum– this is the biggest and oldest museum in Kampala and  it showcases Uganda’s cultural heritage with displays of ethnological and natural-historical exhibits.

MURCHISON FALLS SAFARI EXPERIENCE: 2 Days

After an early breakfast, team will leave for Murchison Falls National Park, drive passing through beautiful woodlands and Savannah grasslands. This journey takes 6-7 hours with stopovers at interesting tourist attractions en route.

You will join an evening boat cruise – touring the top and bottom of majestic falls, where the Nile crashes through a 22 foot (7 m.) gorge to the 147 foot (45 m.) falls. Numerous scenic viewpoints are a photographers’ delight. The most impressive view is the foaming waters rushing into the gorge with a deafening roar. Crocodiles and hippos will be seen along the banks of the Nile. Some of the more common birds that can be seen include heron, geese, pelican, bee-eaters, kingfishers, hornbill, cormorant, saddle-bill stork and the rare shoebill stork.

On second day, You will wake up very early and set off at 6.30am for a sunrise game drive. You can possibly see  buffaloes, giraffes, kob, hartebeest and waterbucks. You may also spot oribi, bushbuck, Bohor reedbuck, shy sitatunga, bush duiker, warthog and bush pig. Large carnivores including lions, leopards and spotted hyenas like to make an appearance, too. Chimpanzees and olive baboons head the list of six species of primates found in the park.

After lunch and nature walk, you will have a chance of spotting other primates like the red tail and blue monkeys who hang out with many more species of birds. Proceed to Kampala after your memorable experience with stories to share.

LAST DAY: 1 day

We shall give our participants the feel of the Entebbe Botanical Gardens – the perfect place to spend a day in tranquility with its exotic plants, paths to walk down, birding.
