KENYA: Childcare Volunteer Project

Kenya Childcare Volunteer Project

Go Volunteer Africa’s Kenya childcare volunteer project offers an opportunity to volunteers to support the needy kids through love and parental care. Most of the children are traumatized by the incidences that occurred and it takes them time to adjust and feel comfortable among new people. This mostly happens to children in the age bracket of 3-7. As for the infants of 2 years and below, these do not recall what happened to them and so they live and grow up knowing that this is their home and family.

Kenya Childcare Volunteer Project

For those volunteers interested in working with needy children in a deeper and more positive ways, the Kenya childcare volunteer project is the perfect volunteer program as it creates exciting activities to develop the children’s creative and communication skills.

These volunteer placements are for those who not only want to explore Kenya, but become immersed in local cultures and spend time giving back to needy children. For anyone who love to spend time working with children, this is the perfect volunteer project in Kenya for you. You don’t need special skills – all you need is compassion and love towards these lovely children.

Kenya Childcare Volunteer Project

The childcare volunteer project in Kenya promotes the right to survival and development of disadvantaged children, as part of our Children’s Development Program. As a volunteer, your main role as a volunteer participating in our project is to bring some joy, hope to the lives of orphans and vulnerable children under this program and help local staff with the daily routines.

Volunteers at our children’s home and schools in Kenya are free to tutor the children, organize arts and crafts or sports activities, and help out with basic chores such as feeding the kids, and folding laundry. At the home, volunteers help with the daily care of the kids, playing with them, showing them attention, even to teach a bit English to the older children.

Kenya Childcare Volunteer Project

This volunteer project can be quite emotional when you see poverty close you but you will be able to help and you will be given full training and support when participating. You won’t be alone either, there will be volunteers from all over the world helping too.

Any volunteer interested in the childcare volunteer project in Kenya will be required to provide a CRB check to participate.  This is a life-changing volunteering experience to anyone who would like to spend their summer, career break, gap year or volunteer holiday working with children in Kenya.

Madagascar childcare volunteer program

Childcare volunteer project in Kenya provides to people of all backgrounds and ages an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of those less fortunate.  As a childcare volunteer you will be caring for children and providing a safe and loving atmosphere for them to play and live in. Volunteers in Kenya might be helping local staff with cooking, preparing food, dressing children, feeding them and keeping them busy.

Make the most of this opportunity by bringing about a positive change in the lives of the disadvantaged children; by providing them the love, care, and affection that they deserve. The opportunity is available throughout the year and you can choose your volunteering duration depending on your convenience. The minimum duration to volunteer is 4 weeks as we try to be ethical and avoid “children tourists”.

VOLUNTEER ACCOMMODATION

Volunteers are provided accommodation in a volunteer house or in a homestay accommodation managed by the local coordinating team. Three meals a day (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner) are provided to the participants from Monday – Sunday. The accommodations are neat and clean. Accommodation is shared amongst volunteers on the ‘same gender sharing’ basis rooms. Wifi internet, warm water is not guaranteed.

The homes are close to useful amenities like banks, ATM’s, currency exchanges, restaurants, cafes and shopping places. All placements are around 10 – 30 minutes from the accommodation. At some point volunteers might be on the move and hence we suggest also bringing a sleeping mat and sleeping bag/pillow for travel and weekends away on adventures. Bathrooms are usually shared. AGE REQUIREMENT

Our program is for anyone sixteen years and above who loves service above self and social experiences with people from all over the world. Families are encouraged to apply and are welcome!

VISAS

Visitors to Kenya require a visa unless they come from one of the visa exempt countries. All visitors must hold a passport valid for 6 months. Kenya introduced an e-Visa system from 2 July 2015. According to the government an application should be done at least 7 days in advance and visitors can stay for up to 90 days with e-visa. Visa on arrival is still available and visitors can stay for up to 90 days with this visa.

From February 2014 Kenya, Rwanda and Uganda began issuing an East African Tourist Visa. The visa costs 100 USD and has no restrictions on citizens of any country. The visa is a non-extendable multiple-entry 90-day visa that has to be first used to enter the country that issued the visa.
